We have a vacancy for an Accountant in the James Cropper PLC finance team primarily responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Head Office Accounts.
Initially reporting to the Head of Finance, the James Cropper PLC Accountant will be a key member of the PLC Finance Team. Primarily responsible for preparing the James Cropper PLC accounts, with a budget of approximately £8m, you will be familiar with book keeping and Group arrangements, including inter-company accounting and treasury. You will also support with other statutory requirements such as: Intrastat; EC Sales Lists; Office of National Statistics submissions; and the PLC entity and James Cropper Group VAT return.
This role demands excellent communication skills, flexibility in prioritising workload and fielding stakeholder enquiries as well as the ability to work to and meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines. Flexibility is also required to support the wider PLC Finance team with employee expenses, distribution of foreign currency, bank reconciliations, the BACs run and manual foreign payments from time to time.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with developed organisational skills and interpersonal skills. The ability to work as a team and to interact with the wider business as well as working independently is essential.
You must be AAT qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification, and have good knowledge of VAT and Intrastat. Coda, Coda XL and Advanced Excel skills are desirable. You will have had at least 3 years relevant past experience in accountancy and ideally experience of working with Groups of companies.
